Electives & Athlete Development

The option of an abbreviated school day (10am-3:30pm) provides families with more flexibility in their busy lives. While some of our Blaze scholars enjoy a slower start to their day or more time with their family in the evenings, many of our current scholars choose to pursue elite level club sports or arts programs before and after school.

Just as in academics, world-class coaches and mentors can help children reach their full potential. We aim to partner with the best possible instructors and connect them with scholars to help take their skills to the next level. Thanks to a partnership with 4QA, scholars have the option to train before school in the morning, three days a week.

We are grateful to partner with several select sports clubs, coaches and organizations who help our scholars excel in their wide-ranging talents and interests.

Coach Adrian

Scholars currently have the opportunity to participate in basketball training with former professional basketball player Adrian Thomas. A home-grown local talent, he was a standout player at Del Valle High School. In college, he was honored as the #1 point guard in the NJCAA in 2010 and is the All-Time Assist Leader at Kishwaukee College in Illinois. Adrian finished his college career at Missouri Western State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management.

After college, Adrian played professional basketball in Sweden, Turkey, and Spain, where he later discovered his passion for training youth basketball players. He has worked with youth basketball programs in many states and international, in Turkey, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany, and the list continues.
